INTRODUCTION
An Evolving Approach to ESG
As NSF continues to grow, managing our impact remains a central priority. During 2025, our teams expanded data collection across energy use, travel, water and waste to build a clearer picture of operational emissions and resource use. This work is guiding a long-term approach to environmental management, including plans to reduce Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50 percent from a 2023 baseline by 2030, even as laboratory capacity and global activity increase. Alongside these efforts, governance, risk management and compliance processes continue to guide responsible decision-making. Publishing this report reflects our commitment to transparency, accountability and steady progress across environmental, social and governance priorities.

Reducing Our Footprint
Managing our environmental impact is an important focus for NSF as our global footprint continues to grow. During 2025, we expanded the measurement and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 categories using the GHG Protocol methodology.
Alongside emissions, we continued to monitor water use, energy consumption and waste management across global operations, identifying opportunities to manage resources more efficiently.
